BLKBURN is an independent design studio based in Kingston, New York, reworking authentic U.S. military surplus into refined utilitarian garments.

Our debut A/W 2026 collection is built from recovered field jackets, utility shirts, vintage workwear, and archival trims gathered over decades. Rather than creating garments from new fabric, BLKBURN begins with materials that already carry a history—broken-in comfort, natural patinas and utilitarian details earned through years of use. These are qualities that cannot be manufactured.

Every garment is individually reconstructed through a process of deconstruction, restoration, overdyeing, and hand finishing. Original details are preserved whenever possible, allowing each piece to retain its character while being transformed into something entirely new.

A defining element of every collection is BLKBURN FIELD WAX—a proprietary studio blend inspired by early oilcloth and waxed workwear worn by outdoorsmen, laborers, and military personnel for generations. Applied by hand, it enhances texture, depth, weather resistance, and the lived-in character of each garment.

Additional studio finishes include hand-painted carbon treatments, rubberized camouflage applications, and layered surface techniques developed to reinterpret traditional military materials through a more modern lens. Every finish is applied by hand, making subtle variations part of the garment's identity rather than imperfections.

Produced as one-of-one pieces and small-batch releases, no two garments are ever exactly alike. Each carries its own history while beginning a new one.

BLKBURN is built on the belief that the best materials already exist. Our work is not about recreating the past—it is about preserving its character while giving it a new purpose.
